Shade Match Me

We've all seen it. We may have even been a victim of it at some point... the dreaded mask line! You know, the makeup line from face to neck. The one where there's a clear color difference and you like Jim Carry from THE MASK. I am determined to always avoid this look. If you are too, I'll share my tips with you...
FIND YOUR UNDERTONE
Undertones are the coloring in your skin. They boil down to three categories: Cool, Neutral and Warm.
Cool- more pink and red
Warm- more golden
Neutral- a mix of both
Still not sure? Take a look at your veins, they can usually tell you.
Blue Veins- Cool
Blue/Green Veins- Neutral
Green Veins- Warm
FIND PICTURES/REVIEWS FOR REFERENCE
You've discovered your undertone! Now it's time to find that shade match. Not in a store where you can swipe some foundation on your jawline? Use pictures as a reference. Many foundations will have swatch pictures! Some still, especially those companies that have independent consultants, will have real picture references. However you choose your shade, here's the two most important things to consider:
Shade match to your neck. You want your foundation to blend from face to neck seamlessly.
Lighting is key! Shade match in a more natural light if you can. But also check the color in other types of lighting as well.
CONSIDER YOUR FINISH
Full coverage foundations can be harder to shade match. If you opt for something that boasts a buildable coverage there will be more margin for error. FARMASi BB Cream, CC Cream, and Be Fit Tinted Moisturizer are super buildable!
GET TRUE OPINIONS
Ask someone you trust - a friend, family member, or a beauty consultant - if the shade is right!
