“There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty.” - Dr. Steve Maraboli

Let me tell you about my day! It was, well it just was. It was different, it was unusual, it was simply not my norm. Usually my days are pretty structured and focused. I have tasks to complete, goals to reach and timelines to meet. And I pride myself in taking care of business.

Today was anything but structured. Working from home with a 4 and 7 year old... holy chaos! Now let me be clear...my girls were actually pretty awesome and did try hard to let me work. But really, they're too young to do a lot on their own.

So forget any sort of normal... it went something like this: answer emails, get breakfast for kids, approve applications, help kids get drinks and snacks, work on Rent Cafe, make lunch, eat while working (ok, that's probably the most normal my day got), take calls while cleaning the top of the toilet lid...don't ask, try to focus with two tablets competing at ridiculous volume levels, work a little more while promising we'll go outside soon... I mean you get the idea right?

So today Dr. Steve Maraboli I feel your quote 100%. My work clothes and pretty makeup were replaced by pajamas and a bare face. My normal confidence was a bit shaken. My structured day was anything but. And yet, here I sit at 9 pm at night thinking, "Yes girl, you made it through the day without losing it."

So when you're having an off day I recommend remembering this quote by a very wise man: “There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty.”
